VASU Research Centre, inaugurated on 26^th February 2008, is the backbone of Vasu Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. It is a DSIR recognized research centre and functioning as in-house research division, spearheading the R&D activity of the company which mainly focuses on innovative research areas like Herbal and Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical, Phytochemical, Cosmaceutical, Analytical, Clinical, Neutraceutical Research and Development.

New Product Development

The products are developed with extensive experimentation to get the formulation consisting of the various herbal ingredients along with bhasmas as well as minerals in some of the formulation. The plants selects for the formulation are already documented to cure the respective disease / disorder within the traditional literature available. The Polyherbal formulation is developed to yield a quality product by evaluating all the parameters like physicochemical parameters, stability parameters as well as other phytochemical profiling. With the help of modern pharmaceutical facilities, the Polyherbal formulation are developed in various forms like capsules, tablets, creams, ointments, syrups and granules

Process Improvement & Standardization

If standard process is not available for the any product. We will provide improved product with their standardization and validation with minimum batch to batch variation along with their technology transfer documents.

Patented Product Development

We are working on the field of research in Ayurvedic drugs and herbal formulations for the novel product development & their patents. Some of the major areas are as follow,
*	Development of unique formulation in form of novel dosage.
*	Development of novel process for herbal /Ayurvedic formulation.

Product Standardization

Standardization is an essential factor for Polyherbal formulation in order to assess the quality of the drugs based on concentration of their active principle
The process of evaluating the quality and purity of products / crude drugs by means of various parameters like morphological, microscopical, physical, chemical and biological observation is called standardization.
The standardization of herbal formulation includes,

*	Physicochemical parameters
*	Chromatographic and Spectroscopic Evaluation
*	Determination of Heavy metals
*	Determination of Pesticide Residue
*	Microbial contamination and afflatoxin

Technical tie-ups with Technology Transfer

We are taking the projects for process development, product improvement, patented product development by technical tie-up with the help of Memorandum of understating (MOU). We will also transfer the technology as per the MOU.

Dossier/ Documentation for Regulatory Affairs

We are providing the guideline for different countries as per the customer requirement for the dossier preparation and documentation submission.

Isolation, Purification and Identification of Markers

Standardization of herbal formulation is very important and necessary now a day. To assess the quality of the herbal products, phytoconstituents / marker compounds is very important tools. Isolation of biomarkers and chemical markers is helpful to create a ‘marker library’ which will be helpful to standardize the polyherbal formulation. To fulfill the requirement of standardization and identification of active compounds in polyherbal formulation, we focused on purification and identification of markers which is very essential for herbal based industries.

Development of NCE from Herbal Source

As per the requirement of the customer we will target the herbal source for required therapeutic segments. We will provide as far as possible the similar types of the moiety which may be having a similar structural formula to the exciting drugs available in the market. We will also try to provide a totally new molecule for the pharmaceutical segments.

Our Chief Operating Officer Shri Hardik J Ukani, received this coveted awards from the hands of Shri Dinsha Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent charge) MSME, Govt of India at a glittering function held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 28.08.09. The awards consist of a Certificate,Trophy and Cash Prize.
